this was kindof a fun chase! i figured it would be the last chase of the season and it was(for me at least). i headed up north on I-29 midafternoon and stopped at the Winnebago Casino in Sloan, Iowa waiting for things to pop. Well that basically happened over the top of me. All the sudden there was nickel sized hail falling and the winds were blowing about 40-45 mph. I started heading east into Iowa trying to stay south of the developing E-W line, but had to drive into one of the cells where i experienced quarter sized hail. it was kind of frustrating though bc each time i caught up to one cell the next one 15 miles ahead would have a tornado warning on it. so i saw no tornadoes(still) but saw some pretty cool structure and mamatus clouds

towers going up in the parking lot at the casino

cell looking ne from the casino

mamatus clouds

quarter sized hail

anvil and large towers going up facing east

more large towers and overshooting anvil

beautiful mamatus clouds over wind generators
